Our Experience Litigating Seat Belt Defects

When I worked with my Father, we had a case involving catastrophic injuries in a Ford pickup rollover caused by an inoperable seatbelt. We won that case at trial and, to fully recover, we had to take the case to the Florida Supreme Court. I wrote about that case in a prior post linked just below.

Moorman v. Ford and American Safety Equipment

Moorman was not easy to win and our courts continue to show that many difficulties continue.

The Eleventh Circuit refused Monday to rehear a panel decision affirming Ford Motor Co.’s jury win in a suit by the father of a driver who died in a 2016 car crash after he was ejected from the vehicle despite being properly buckled in.
